Turin, Italy: FRATELLI CORA VERMOUTH, 1876. Loose_leaf. 27 x 22 folded. Printed and handwritten letter/invoice on company letterhead from owner Giuseppe F. Cora to Lyon merchant and judge Isaac Casati (1830-1899), dated April 31, 1876, for a vermouth purchase of 411 francs (paid October 31, 1976). Includes decorative Fratelli Cora label.

Fratelli Cora (Joseph et Louis Frères Cora) was founded by brothers Giuseppe and Luigi F. Cora, who acquired the shop of Turin herbalist Giovanni Rovere, maker of vermouth supplied to King Charles Albert and the Royal House. Expansion followed, with exports to America by 1838 and a new factory purchase in Costigliole d'Asti by 1859 due to growth. King Umberto I awarded a Royal Patent on April 5, 1894.
