In 1936, Elsie the Cow was introduced as the Borden brand's Mascot - becomiong an American icon through contests and campaigns featuring Elsie and her expanding family: husband Elmer the bull (Elmer's glue), their calves Beulah and Beuregard and the twins Larabee and Lobelia. Oddly, no mention of any awkward feeling with regard to the beef section. Illustrated throughout. Interior clean and crisp. Dust wrapper rubbed and chipped with closed tears.
