A comprehensive catalogue containing 1344 entries from the 15th to the 20th centuries. Erna Horn, a popular cookbook and household manual writer codified the ideal of the efficient, dutiful housewife - which were ideologically compatible with the National Socialist domestic policy and helped to normalize the key elements of Nazi domestic ideology. Horn and her husband, Dr. Julius Arndt assembled a cookbook collection starting in the 1930's, which comprised about 2700 volumes. Horn and Arndt began this catalogue but died before it was completed by Marie Sachs. Interior and boards pristine. Dust wrapper lightly rubbed, sunned at spine. House in original slipcase.
