Cairns was a signifcant member and leader within the Assistance League of Hollywood, known for her decades of service, particularly in their school programs. Recipes attributed to community members including: Marion Davies, Mrs. Harvey Mudd, Mrs. Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Mae West, Frederic March, and many more.
Foreward by Anita M. Baldwin, daughter of Elias Jackson "Lucky" Baldwin, a prominent pioneer tycoon and owner of Rancho Santa Anita. Anita founded the Anita M. Baldwin Hospital for Babies of Los Angeles, composed over 50 published songs, and had a deep commitment to philanthropy.
