Directed at the young women of England, this pamphlet describes the history of glove making as well as the individual manufacturers narrative. In the Forward we see the great need for labor after WWII: "The Object of this book is to give a brief history of the origin of fabric gloves, the growth and development of the industry through the ages, and an outline of the various processes of manufacture, in the hope that it may create interest in the minds of young people, particularly girls, who, on leaving school, desire to enter a craft industry for the purpose of earning a living."
