New York: 1942. Wraps. Dario Toffenetti immigrated to the US from Italy in 1910, landing in Chicago. Working his way up from ice cream vendor, to bus boy, Toffenetti took his $3,500 savings and opened the very first Toffenetti restaurant in downtown Chicago. In 1940 29 x 20 cm. Toffeneeti opened the splashy, 1,000 seat restaurant in Times square that offered a little something for everyone. This menu from Saturday, April 11, 1942, includes "Complete Luncheons" (Including Beverage and Dessert) - Genuine Spaghetti and Delicious Ravioli, Fried Filet of Sole with Tartar Sauce, etc. Also on the menu: "Slenderella Salads" - Special Double Thick Honolulu Salad, The Streamliner, The Refreshing Biloxi Salad, and more. A small cocktail menu is stapled in, how about a Rum Collins for 45c or a Dubonnet Cocktail for 30c. The back cover features the A La Carte Menu. The front cover features an illustration of the Old Chicago Water Tower. Two tape marks on from cover. Covers very lightly soiled, interior crisp and clean. Illustrated wraps. Very good. Item #4359
