New York, NY: 1947. Wraps. 25 x 16.5 cm. One of the first national dining chains in the U.S. and Canada, having peaked in the 1920's and 1930's with about 125 locations. Childs was a pioneer in a number of areas, including design, service, sanitation, and labor relations. Launched in 1889 by brothers Samuel S. Childs and William Childs on the ground level of Merchants Hotel. This menu features a black and white illustration of the Cloisters by Mary Black Diller. If only we could go back to this menu featuring a Rum Sour for 50c or a Manhattan for 40c. Child's famous Times Square Club Dinners (which Include Dessert & Beverages): Beef Goulash, Broiled Flounder, Hot Pot Roast, and Hot Turkey Sandwich with Giblet Gravy. Also noted on the rear cover: At CHILDS Noon begins at 11:30! Front and back cover lightly toned, with some small creases to the edges. Illustrated paper wraps. Very good. Item #4343
