New York: 1958. Cards. 2 pages. 33 x 25 cm. Since the opening of the Waldorf Astoria, significant functions, both political and social, have occurred in the Empire Room. The Empire Room is where New Yorkers and tourists alike flocked to experience a great meal, vibrant performances, and an exciting atmosphere. This menu reflects the splendor found in the room including a full menu recommended by the head chef as well as a full A la Carte menu. Highlights: Terrapin Maryland, Lobster Americaine, Frog's Legs Porvencale, Châteaubriand Montgolfier, Roast New England Partridge on Toast of Foie Gras, and Brochette of Kentucky Spring Lamb on Saffron Rice. Written on the side of the menu: Monfort - L' Amaury (possibly referring to a wine from this French Region) and the signature of Maurice Carrère (French Perfumer). Interior clean, gold cover scuffed with small creases. Gold illustrated cards, gold twine. Very good. Item #4342
