[LGBTQIA+] [POETRY] BEHIND THE STATE CAPITOL: OR CINCINNATI PIKE; Cinema decoupages; verses, abbreviated prose insights

Boston: The Good Gay Poets, 1975. First Edition. Paperback. 202 pages. 22 x 13.5 cm. John Wieners (1934-2002) - born in Boston, Wieners was a Beat poet and member of the San Francisco Renaissance, Wieners was also an antiwar and gay rights activist. His poetry combines candid accounts of sexual and drug-related experimentation with jazz-influenced improvisation, placing both in a lyrical structure (Poetry Foundation). John was drawn to the interzone between madness and revelation -poetry was his way of reembodying those altered states. The collages play perfectly against the poetry. Interior clean, half title page with light foxing. Wraps lightly toned. Covered in protective mylar. Illustrated paperback. Very good. Item #3967
