From the namesake, Justus von Liebig (1803-1873), who is widely credited as one of the founders of organic chemistry, this "extract of meat" product was marketed as a health supplement for those who lacked the resources to buy good quality provisions. Liebig Company located it's factory in Uruguay where an unlimited supply of beef was always on hand. Recipes highlight the product. Illustrated throughout.
