Staplebound. 31 pages. 18 x 12.5 The High-Street Cook Book was originally prepared and published by the ladies of High-Street Congregational Church, Lowell, Mass., for the purpose of being sold at their Annual Fair. This edition, published by the proprietors of Hood's Sarsaparilla was procured from local pharmacists/druggists. Many recipes attributed to members of the church as well as preposterous claims that Hood's Sarsaparilla is a wonderful Blood Purifier. Laid in: a pink folded paper advertisement for Hood's Sarsaparilla "ON TOP" - 100 DOSES ONE DOLLAR - more ludicrous declarations of Hood's "proven medical properties".
