[FRENCH] [TRADE CATALOG] Tabliers Confectionn s Pour Dames et Hommes

Paris: Samaritaine, 1913. Staplebound. 16 pages. 24 x 15.5 cm. Early aspirational 20th century department store catalog intended to catch the eye of the growing working and middle class consumer. Copiously illustrated, with prices, this pamphlet presents the assortment of trades of the times. Aprons for women include: trade, kitchen, nurse, baker. For men: gardener, valet, military, grocer, wine merchant, chef, doctor, veterinarian. Also includes small aprons for valet boys and dining boys, most likely children employed in residences. Text in French. Small 2 cm. stamp of Paris collector, Roxanne Debuisson - Collection Debuisson Paris. Pages lightly toned, tape reinforced at bottom edge of spine. Illustrated wraps. Very good.
