Boston: The Somerset Club, 1963. Limited Edition. Hardcover. 113 pages. 24 x 16 cm. Limited edition - one of 3,000 copies printed at the Stinehour Press in Lunenburg, Vermont, for the Somerset Club. A cookbook containing recipes for the food of the Somerset Club in the 1960’s. The recipes are collected in large part from chefs Françoise Lombard, Raymond Le Glaive, Denis Lippi, and Charlotte Turgeon. Includes recipes such as Anchovy Toasts, Bellevue Broth, Frogs’ Legs Provençale, Crabs Farcis au Diable, and more. The recipes, although complicated, are designed to be made at home. Decorations for the book highlight wood engravings by John Melanson. An inscription at the end of the introduction reads “For Brad Swan, Alex Williams 21 March 1970”. Blue cloth covered boards with gilt spine. Near fine. Item #3221
