The Thanksgiving Visitor

New York: Random House, 1967. Hardcover. 63 pages. 25 x 16.5 cm. Signed by author on front free end paper, along with a gift inscription from owner. Until he was ten years old, Truman Capote lived with a family of distant and elderly cousins in a small town in rural Alabama. The Thanksgiving Visitor is a forthright autobiographical story about those years, predominantly centering on his relationship with one of the cousins, Miss Sook Faulk. The photograph on the cover of this edition is of the author and Miss Faulk, who died in 1938 while Mr. Capote was a student at a military academy in New York State. Clean, crisp copy. Slipcase sunned on spine. Quarter red cloth spine over tan boards. Near fine, in very good slipcase. Item #2341
