1776. Loose_leaf. 10 pages. 9.75 x 7.5 inches. Watermarked laid paper, with seal 'Cen D'Orleans" stamped on two pages. Contract details agreement between Joseph Denir and Marieanne Grosboir on the 6th of February, 1776. This contract was approved by the royal notary, with a seal bearing the name 'd'Orleans', a city in north-central France and the capitol of the Centre-Val de Loire region. Joseph was the first son of a winemaker, as was his wife to be Marieanne. Contract outlines family lineage on both sides and lists the dowry. Items included: silver, walnut wood chest, sheets, bed, bed curtain, sofa, lamp, and saffron. Items estimated cost is listed. A lovely handwritten contract written in very efficient and methodical manner. Some loss to final cover page. Cream paper, loosely bound with string. Very good. Item #1747
