Melville M'Whinnie, 8 pages, London: Wilson & Ogilvy. An uncommon pamphlet on gynecology, with illustrations examining genital abnormalities. Dr. Arthur Farre was an notable obstetrician and physician extraordinary to Queen Victoria. Farre was also known to instigate the prevention of the advancement of women in the medical field by resigning (1875) in protest from the Royal College of Surgeons at women being allowed to take the midwifery examination. The second work by M'Whinnie investigates malformed genitals and illustrates an apparatus used to collect urine and protect the anatomy.
