Women & Abortion; The Women's Abortion & Contraception Campaign's Evidence to the Lane Commission

London: 1971. Staplebound. Unpaginated (22 pgs). 21 x 15 cm. WACC's reaction to the Lane Commission, which revisited the United Kingdom's Abortion Act of 1967 in an effort to restrict legalized abortions. Shares the data that they collected by sending out 1000+ questionnaires to different groups such as liberation groups, tenants associations, and individual social workers in order to better understand who, why, and when various women got abortions themselves, including the affects that it had on their attitudes, bodies, and lives. Also includes the personal (though anonymous) stories of eight women who were unable to obtain abortions, letters from those who wrote back about their own experiences, and a manifesto calling for women to have control over their bodies and their contraception methods. Light rubbing to spine. Purple pictoral staplebound wrappers. Near fine. Item #3032
